Platinum Travel is a milestone machine: hit ₹7 lakh of annual spend and the stacked bonuses (7,500 + 10,000 + 22,500 MR plus a ₹10,000 Taj voucher) push the effective return well past most cards in its fee class.
It rewards planners — if your card spend reliably lands between ₹4 and ₹8 lakh a year, the milestones plus Membership Rewards transfers (Marriott Bonvoy at 1:1 is the standout) make it compelling. Spends beyond the last milestone earn a modest 1 MR per ₹50, so heavy spenders should split overflow elsewhere.
From 9 March 2026: spending ₹1.9 lakh in a card year earns 7,500 bonus MR, ₹4 lakh earns a further 10,000 MR, and ₹7 lakh earns 22,500 MR plus a ₹10,000 Taj Experiences e-voucher. All credit automatically on top of the base 1 MR per ₹50.
Transferred to Marriott Bonvoy at 1:1, MR points are typically worth ₹0.45-0.65 each; airline transfers run at 2:1 in India (so 2 MR = 1 Avios/KrisFlyer mile), which still shines on short-haul premium-cabin awards. The 24 Karat Gold Collection's Taj voucher (24,000 MR → ₹14,000) is the best fixed-value floor at ~₹0.58 per point.
As of June 2026: British Airways and Qatar Airways (both Avios), Singapore KrisFlyer, Virgin Atlantic, and Cathay's Asia Miles — all at 2:1 — plus Marriott Bonvoy (1:1) and Hilton Honors (1:0.9) for hotels. Etihad's partnership ends worldwide in June 2026 and Emirates transfers from India have been paused since May 2025.
Yes — 8 complimentary domestic lounge visits a year (2 per quarter). There are no free international lounge visits on this card.
Acceptance is strong online and at organised retail in metros, weaker at small offline merchants. Most members pair Amex with a Visa/Mastercard for universal acceptance — the milestones don't need every spend, just ₹7 lakh a year routed thoughtfully.
