Who should get it

A useful no-fee option for regular Amazon shoppers who can use Amazon Pay balance. Prime membership has a separate cost; the 5% rate is not available on every Amazon transaction.

Check the payment route for bills and partner purchases. Utility payments outside Amazon, education and international purchases no longer earn rewards.

Eligibility follows the merchant category code and transaction data received by the issuer, so the merchant name alone may not determine whether a transaction earns rewards.

  • Fuel, gold, silver, other precious metals, tax and rent
  • Education and international transactions; utilities outside Amazon (from 11 October 2025)
  • EMI, cash transactions, fees and interest; reversed or cancelled purchases

Do not apply the 5% Prime shopping rate to every digital purchase or bill. Amazon Pay balance is distinct from statement cashback. No rewards restoration after EMI cancellation.

Is Amazon Pay ICICI lifetime free?

The issuer lists nil joining and annual fees. Prime membership is separate and card approval is invitation-based.

Is the cashback credited to my card statement?

No. It is credited to the Amazon Pay balance linked to your application. It cannot be treated as card-statement cashback.

Do international purchases and all bills earn rewards?

International and education purchases earn no rewards. Eligible Amazon bill payments can earn 2%, but utilities paid outside Amazon are excluded.
