SBI Aurum is SBI Card's super-premium metal card. It is built less as a pure rewards-maximisation product and more as a premium lifestyle card for lounges, movies, golf, spa and milestone vouchers.
The base reward rate is modest for the fee: 4 RP per Rs 100, worth about 1% when each point is valued at 25 paise. The real value appears only when you use the welcome points, BookMyShow benefit and milestone vouchers well.
The renewal structure is the weak spot. There is no renewal bonus or direct renewal voucher on fee payment, so users who do not cross the Rs 12 lakh waiver threshold need to be confident they will use the lifestyle benefits.
