Who should get it

The BOBCARD Eterna is built for someone who spends heavily online and on travel, dining and movies: those four categories earn 15 reward points per ₹100 (worth ₹0.25 each, so ≈3.75% back), among the highest accelerated rates at its ₹2,499 + GST fee. The catch is the cap — accelerated points stop at 5,000 per statement cycle, i.e. roughly ₹33,000 of category spend a month — so the headline rate only holds up to that ceiling, after which everything drops to the 3 points per ₹100 (≈0.75%) base rate.

Pick it if you can comfortably clear ₹2,50,000 a year to waive the renewal fee and keep the lounge perk alive (unlimited domestic lounges now need ₹40,000 of spend in the previous quarter), and if your spending fits the rewarded categories rather than rent, fuel, wallets, utilities or insurance, which earn nothing. There is no international lounge access and forex is marked up 2% + GST, so this is a domestic-lifestyle rewards card, not a travel card for spending abroad.

BOB Eterna FAQs

What is the joining and annual fee for the Bank of Baroda Eterna credit card?

The BOBCARD Eterna has a joining fee of ₹2,499 + GST and an annual (renewal) fee of ₹2,499 + GST. The joining fee is waived if you spend ₹25,000 within the first 60 days, and the renewal fee is waived if you spend ₹2,50,000 in the card anniversary year. A limited-period lifetime-free offer has also been available for applicants with an annual income of ₹12 lakh or more.

What reward rate does the BOBCARD Eterna offer?

It earns 15 reward points per ₹100 spent on online shopping, travel, dining, movies and international transactions, and 3 reward points per ₹100 on other eligible spends. Each reward point is worth ₹0.25 when redeemed as cashback, so the accelerated categories return about 3.75% and the base rate about 0.75%.

Is there a cap on the accelerated reward points?

Yes. The 5X (15 points per ₹100) rate is capped at 5,000 reward points per statement cycle across the bonus categories, which is roughly ₹33,000 of category spend per month. Spending in those categories beyond the cap earns the base rate of 3 points per ₹100 for the rest of that cycle.

What lounge access does the Bank of Baroda Eterna provide?

The card offers unlimited complimentary access to domestic airport lounges in India. From 1 January 2025, this benefit requires a minimum spend of ₹40,000 in the preceding calendar quarter to stay active. The card does not include international airport lounge access.

What spends are excluded from earning reward points on the BOBCARD Eterna?

Fuel and a list of select merchant categories earn no reward points. Excluded categories typically include rent, wallet loads, government services, education, insurance, utilities and supermarkets. The card also applies a 2% + GST foreign currency markup on international transactions.
