HSBC’s much-awaited Accor transfer promotion has finally arrived. Eligible Privé, Premier and TravelOne credit cardholders can earn up to 50% bonus ALL Accor Reward Points.

At first glance, this looks like one of HSBC’s best points-transfer promotions. But the actual offer is far more complicated.

Cardholders must register during a three-day window, spend ₹1 lakh in only eight calendar days, avoid restricted merchant categories and transfer a minimum of 15,000 HSBC Reward Points during a separate two-day window.

Premier cardholders face an additional condition: simply holding the HSBC Premier Credit Card does not guarantee the 50% bonus. The applicable rate depends on the cardholder’s Total Relationship Balance, or TRB, as of 31 July 2026.

Here is a complete breakdown of the promotion, its exclusions, the hidden complications and practical ways to complete the ₹1 lakh spending requirement without wasting money or risking a clawback.

Important: HSBC states that the latest version of the offer terms hosted on its website will be final and binding. Recheck the official document before making a large purchase or transferring points.

The offer in brief

To qualify for the Accor transfer bonus, cardholders must complete all three requirements:

  1. Register between 5 and 7 August 2026.
  2. Spend ₹1,00,000 in eligible categories between 5 and 12 August 2026.
  3. Transfer at least 15,000 HSBC Reward Points in a single transaction between 13 and 14 August 2026.

Missing even one requirement can make the cardholder ineligible for the entire bonus.

The broader promotion runs from 5 to 14 August, but registration, spending and point transfers have separate windows.

Spending after 12 August will not satisfy the ₹1 lakh requirement. Similarly, transferring points before 13 August or after 14 August will not qualify for the promotional bonus.

Eligible cards and bonus rates

The stated conversion ratio is:

100 HSBC Reward Points = 100 ALL Accor Reward Points

The applicable bonus is added separately.

These calculations assume that every other condition is satisfied.

Minimum-transfer requirement

At least 15,000 HSBC Reward Points must be transferred in one transaction.

Transferring 10,000 points followed by another 5,000 points may not qualify because HSBC specifically requires a minimum of 15,000 points in a single redemption transaction.

The minimum-transfer outcomes are:

Points converted to Accor cannot be reversed or cancelled. Check the membership number, account name and number of points carefully before confirming the transfer.

The Premier TRB condition

The Premier segment contains the biggest surprise in this promotion.

Premier cardholders receive the 50% bonus only if they satisfy the applicable TRB requirement:

  • Customers onboarded before 1 January 2026 must have a TRB of at least ₹40 lakh.
  • Customers onboarded on or after 1 January 2026 must have a TRB of at least ₹50 lakh.
  • HSBC will check TRB eligibility as of 31 July 2026.

All other Premier cardholders receive a 25% bonus capped at 15,000 ALL points.

This can include customers who qualified for Premier through the salary-account route but did not satisfy the specified TRB condition.

Holding the Premier Credit Card is therefore not enough to guarantee the 50% benefit.

Premier cardholders should confirm:

  • Their official Premier onboarding date;
  • Their recognised TRB on 31 July 2026;
  • Whether HSBC classifies them under the 50% or 25% segment;
  • Their applicable maximum bonus.

If there is any uncertainty, obtain confirmation through HSBC secure messaging or email. Written confirmation will be more useful than a verbal assurance if a dispute arises.

What are Accor points worth?

ALL Accor generally provides a fixed redemption value:

1,000 ALL Reward Points = €20
2,000 ALL Reward Points = €40

The rupee value depends on the exchange rate applied at the time of redemption.

Bonus pointsAccor redemption valueApproximate value in INR
3,750€75₹8,258
7,500€150₹16,515
10,000€200₹22,020
15,000€300₹33,030
50,000€1,000₹1,10,100
100,000€2,000₹2,20,200

Accor points can generally be used at participating properties and on eligible rates. Certain taxes and charges may not be payable with points, while some prepaid or non-refundable bookings may require partial card payment.

The bonus can be valuable if you already have an Accor stay planned. A speculative transfer is less attractive because the conversion cannot be reversed.

The ₹1 lakh spending requirement

Cardholders must spend ₹1,00,000 between 5 and 12 August 2026.

Although this provides eight calendar days, the usable window can be shorter in practice. Transactions may take time to settle, and purchases completed near the deadline may remain pending.

It is sensible to finish most of the spending by 9 or 10 August.

The following should not be counted towards the target:

  • Restricted-category transactions;
  • Transactions made through HSBC Travel with Points;
  • Cash advances;
  • Credit-card fees and charges;
  • Disputed transactions;
  • Cancelled purchases;
  • Refunded or reversed transactions;
  • Transactions HSBC considers fraudulent, abusive or manipulative.

Restricted categories for HSBC Privé

Under HSBC’s rewards terms, Privé cardholders do not earn Reward Points in the following categories:

CategoryMerchant Category Code
Utilities4900
Tax payments9311
Real estate and property managers6513
Non-financial institutions6051
Money transfers4829
Jewellery5944, 5094
Insurance6300, 5960
Fuel5541, 5983, 5172, 5542, 5552
Financial institutions6010, 6011, 6012
E-wallets6540
Bail and bond payments9223
Education and government9399, 8299, 8220, 8211, 8241, 8244, 8249, 9222, 9402, 9211, 9405

Privé cardholders should therefore avoid relying on electricity bills, tax payments, insurance premiums, jewellery, fuel, wallet loading, school fees and similar transactions for the ₹1 lakh target.

Restricted categories for HSBC Premier

Fuel is specifically excluded from earning Reward Points on the Premier Credit Card.

HSBC’s regular rewards terms separately state that Reward Points in the following categories are available only up to a cumulative monthly spending limit of ₹1 lakh:

  • Utilities;
  • Tax payments;
  • Real estate and property managers;
  • Non-financial institutions;
  • Money transfers;
  • Jewellery;
  • Insurance;
  • Financial institutions;
  • E-wallets;
  • Bail and bond payments;
  • Education and government.

This creates an important grey area.

These categories are not all described as complete exclusions in Premier’s standard rewards rules; several are described as capped categories. However, the Accor offer directs customers to the broader restricted-category document.

Premier cardholders should not depend on one of these categories for the entire promotional target without obtaining confirmation from HSBC.

Fuel should be treated as clearly ineligible.

Restricted categories for HSBC TravelOne

HSBC’s published TravelOne exclusion list includes:

  • Tax payments;
  • Real estate and property managers;
  • Non-financial institutions;
  • Money transfers;
  • Jewellery;
  • Insurance;
  • Financial institutions;
  • E-wallets;
  • Bail and bond payments;
  • Education and government;
  • Cash advances;
  • Fees and charges;
  • Disputed transactions.

Merchant eligibility is determined by the MCC submitted with the transaction. The merchant’s name or the payment app used does not guarantee how HSBC will classify it.

Are flight and hotel bookings excluded?

Not all travel bookings are excluded.

The promotion specifically excludes transactions made through HSBC’s Travel with Points facility, which is powered by Hopper.

Therefore:

  • A Hopper booking through HSBC Travel with Points should not be counted.
  • A direct airline booking may count if processed as an eligible retail transaction.
  • A direct hotel booking may count if its MCC is eligible.
  • A booking through an external OTA may count, subject to the transaction’s MCC and HSBC’s assessment.

The terms do not impose a blanket exclusion on every flight and hotel purchase.

Keep the booking invoice and proof showing that the purchase was not made through HSBC Travel with Points.

Practical ways to reach ₹1 lakh of eligible spending

The best strategy is to bring forward genuine expenditure that you would otherwise make over the next few months.

Do not create unnecessary spending solely to obtain bonus points.

1. Gift vouchers can be your best friend

Gift vouchers can help you bring forward future spending without buying products you do not presently need.

Consider vouchers for brands and services you use regularly, such as:

  • Amazon Shopping;
  • Amazon Pay;
  • Myntra;
  • Flipkart;
  • Uber;
  • BigBasket;
  • Swiggy or Zomato;
  • Croma or Reliance Digital;
  • Lifestyle or Shoppers Stop;
  • Other brands that your household uses regularly.

For example, if your family normally spends ₹15,000–₹20,000 every month across Amazon, Myntra, Uber and food-delivery platforms, purchasing a few months’ worth of vouchers during the offer period could substantially reduce the remaining target.

However, follow a few important precautions:

  • Purchase only vouchers you are confident of using.
  • Check the voucher’s validity and usage restrictions.
  • Avoid buying large quantities for resale.
  • Never buy vouchers with the intention of converting them into cash.
  • Buy from the brand or an authorised voucher platform.
  • Keep the invoice and voucher-purchase confirmation.
  • Check whether the transaction earns normal HSBC Reward Points.
  • Remember that Amazon Pay vouchers may be treated differently from Amazon Shopping vouchers.

Gift-voucher purchases are not expressly guaranteed to qualify. Eligibility will depend on the merchant’s MCC and HSBC’s final classification.

If time permits, make a smaller test purchase first. Do not depend entirely on vouchers for the ₹1 lakh target.

Used sensibly, gift vouchers for unavoidable future expenses can still be one of the most practical ways to bring forward genuine spending.

2. Bring forward your next business trip or family holiday

Bookings made through HSBC’s Hopper-powered Travel with Points marketplace are excluded.

Bookings made directly with airlines and hotels, or through external OTAs such as MakeMyTrip, Goibibo, Cleartrip, Paytm Flights and Yatra, may count as ordinary eligible card spending, subject to the merchant’s MCC and HSBC’s assessment.

If you already have an upcoming:

  • Business trip;
  • Family holiday;
  • International vacation;
  • Festival-season trip;
  • Wedding-related journey;
  • Hotel stay;
  • Group flight booking,

bringing the booking forward to the promotional window could help complete a substantial portion of the ₹1 lakh requirement.

TravelOne cardholders can also earn rewards on eligible travel spending and promotional discounts of up to 15% on certain travel bookings.

Current HSBC offers include discounts on eligible flight and hotel reservations through platforms such as MakeMyTrip and Goibibo. These discounts are subject to coupon codes, minimum transaction values, maximum caps, eligible inventory and OTA-specific conditions.

For example:

Travel purchaseAmount
Family flight tickets through an eligible OTA₹48,000
Hotel reservation₹32,000
Car rental or airport transfer₹8,000
Luggage and travel accessories₹12,000
Total₹1,00,000

Before booking:

  • Do not enter through HSBC Travel with Points.
  • Check the OTA’s applicable HSBC coupon code.
  • Verify the minimum booking value.
  • Check the maximum discount.
  • Confirm which hotels or flights are eligible.
  • Remember that only the final discounted amount charged to your card contributes to spending.
  • Avoid making a booking merely to cancel it later.
  • Keep the invoice and payment confirmation.

For instance, a hotel costing ₹40,000 with a ₹5,000 instant discount will generate only ₹35,000 of card spending—not ₹40,000.

A planned business trip or family holiday can therefore be one of the cleanest ways to reach the spending target while receiving an additional travel discount.

3. Make one major planned retail purchase

A large, genuine retail transaction can cover a significant portion of the requirement.

Examples include:

  • Laptop or desktop computer;
  • Mobile phone;
  • Television;
  • Refrigerator;
  • Washing machine;
  • Air conditioner;
  • Furniture;
  • Home-office equipment;
  • Camera;
  • Home-improvement materials;
  • Genuine medical or dental treatment.

Check the refund policy before purchasing. A later reversal can cause HSBC to withhold or claw back the bonus.

4. Prepay genuine household requirements

You can bring forward normal expenditure on:

  • Groceries;
  • Household supplies;
  • Medicines;
  • Personal-care products;
  • Pet food and supplies;
  • Clothing;
  • Office supplies;
  • Annual software subscriptions;
  • Streaming subscriptions;
  • Fitness memberships, subject to MCC;
  • Upcoming dining and event expenses.

Avoid overbuying perishable items or anything you may later return.

5. Maintain a spending buffer

Do not stop at exactly ₹1,00,000.

Aim for approximately ₹1.05 lakh to ₹1.10 lakh of clearly eligible spending.

The extra amount can protect against:

  • Small refunds;
  • Failed transactions;
  • Unexpected merchant coding;
  • Pending payments;
  • Post-purchase discounts;
  • Foreign-currency conversion differences;
  • Transactions settling outside the window.

The buffer must consist of genuine expenditure.

6. Complete the spending early

Try to complete large transactions by 9 or 10 August.

Do not rely on a major purchase made late on 12 August. Delayed settlement could create a dispute over whether the transaction falls inside the qualifying period.

Save screenshots showing the transaction date and status.

7. Maintain a transaction tracker

Sample ₹1 lakh spending plans

Plan A: Gift vouchers and household spending

PurchaseAmount
Amazon Shopping vouchers₹20,000
Myntra or Flipkart vouchers₹10,000
Uber and food-delivery vouchers₹5,000
Groceries and household supplies₹15,000
Planned electronics purchase₹45,000
Retail buffer₹10,000
Total₹1,05,000

Voucher eligibility is not guaranteed. Do not rely on this plan without checking that the transactions earn normal HSBC Reward Points.

Plan B: Upcoming travel

PurchaseAmount
Direct or eligible OTA flight booking₹45,000
Hotel reservation outside Travel with Points₹30,000
Luggage and travel equipment₹10,000
Clothing and pharmacy₹10,000
Retail buffer₹10,000
Total₹1,05,000

Plan C: Home and electronics

PurchaseAmount
Home appliance₹42,000
Mobile phone₹30,000
Furniture₹18,000
Groceries₹10,000
Retail buffer₹5,000
Total₹1,05,000

These are illustrations, not eligibility guarantees. The final determination depends on the submitted MCC and HSBC’s processing.

Or use mix of all of above plans.

Should you buy gold through Myntra or PhonePe?

Do not treat this as a guaranteed strategy.

Jewellery MCCs 5944 and 5094 are explicitly excluded for Privé and TravelOne. Jewellery is also specially treated under Premier’s regular rewards terms.

Purchasing gold through Myntra, PhonePe, a gift card or another intermediary does not guarantee that HSBC will treat it as ordinary retail spending. However this route doesn't get tagged as jewellery mcc. Hence this could work as long as mcc is favorable.

The transaction could be classified as:

  • Jewellery;
  • E-wallet loading;
  • Money transfer;
  • Financial services;
  • Non-financial institution;
  • Gift cards;
  • Another restricted category.

Even if a transaction initially posts under a general retail MCC, HSBC can review the underlying transaction pattern.

The offer permits HSBC to disqualify participants or claw back bonus points where it identifies fraud, abuse, manipulation or conduct inconsistent with the promotion. So this could be a risky move in case you are thinking to do it.

Avoid:

  • Loading wallets merely to generate spending;
  • Buying refundable gold for the offer;
  • Buying vouchers for resale;
  • Purchasing products with a plan to return them;
  • Cycling money through friends or merchants;
  • Swiping at your own business;
  • Creating fake purchases;
  • Cash-like transactions disguised as retail payments.

Transfer only to your own Accor account

HSBC requires the points to be transferred to an ALL Accor account held in the primary cardholder’s own name.

Transfers to another person’s account will not qualify.

The terms also say that points transferred to a third-party account may be forfeited or adjusted against the cardholder’s current HSBC Rewards balance.

Before transferring, verify:

  • Primary cardholder’s full name;
  • Name registered with HSBC;
  • Name registered with ALL Accor;
  • ALL Accor membership number;
  • HSBC Reward Points balance;
  • Number of points being transferred.

The fact that HSBC’s platform may technically accept another person’s membership number does not make the transaction eligible.

What if you hold multiple HSBC cards?

The offer does not clearly explain every situation involving customers who hold more than one eligible HSBC card.

Before relying on combined spending or transferring pooled points, ask HSBC:

  • Can spending across two eligible cards be combined?
  • Which card determines the bonus percentage?
  • Which card determines the maximum bonus?
  • Does the transfer have to be initiated under a particular card?
  • How are pooled Reward Points attributed?
  • Does holding Privé or Premier automatically provide the higher rate?
  • Which tier applies if spending is completed on TravelOne but points are transferred through Premier?

Do not assume that HSBC will automatically apply the most beneficial category.

Complete transfer checklist

Before 13 August:

  • Register by sending HSBCALL to 86558 58111.
  • Save the WhatsApp registration acknowledgement.
  • Confirm registration was completed before 23:59 on 7 August.
  • Complete at least ₹1 lakh of eligible spending.
  • Maintain a reasonable spending buffer.
  • Remove Travel with Points transactions from the total.
  • Remove restricted-category transactions.
  • Remove refunds and reversals.
  • Confirm that transactions have posted.
  • Save invoices and card-statement screenshots.
  • Check the HSBC Reward Points balance.
  • Confirm that the ALL Accor account is active.
  • Match the ALL account name with the primary cardholder.

During 13–14 August:

  • Open the HSBC India Mobile Banking App.
  • Select the applicable HSBC credit card.
  • Open the Reward Points section.
  • Choose the redemption or transfer option.
  • Select ALL Accor.
  • Enter and recheck your own membership number.
  • Transfer at least 15,000 points in one transaction.
  • Save the final confirmation and reference number.

Do not wait until late on 14 August. HSBC states that it is not responsible for app failures, network problems or technical interruptions beyond its reasonable control.

When will the bonus arrive?

The bonus ALL Accor Reward Points should be credited within 30 days after completion of the offer period or by 16 September 2026.

Keep the following until the bonus arrives:

  • Registration screenshot;
  • Spending tracker;
  • Card statement;
  • Merchant invoices;
  • Voucher confirmations;
  • Travel-booking invoices;
  • Points-transfer confirmation;
  • ALL Accor account details;
  • Written clarification from HSBC.

If the bonus is missing after 16 September, contact HSBC and submit the complete record.

Important clawback conditions

HSBC may reverse, withhold or claw back the bonus if:

  • An underlying transaction is refunded;
  • A purchase is reversed or cancelled;
  • A cardholder raises a dispute or chargeback;
  • HSBC identifies fraud or abuse;
  • HSBC identifies manipulation;
  • Conduct is considered inconsistent with the promotion;
  • The card is cancelled, blocked or suspended;
  • The account becomes delinquent;
  • The account is written off;
  • Points are transferred to another person’s Accor account.

Keep the card active and in good standing until the bonus is credited.

Is the promotion worth pursuing?

HSBC Privé

The 50% bonus and 100,000-point maximum can be extremely valuable for cardholders with a large points balance and planned Accor stays.

However, Privé also has an extensive exclusion list. The offer makes sense when the ₹1 lakh requirement can be completed through genuine retail or eligible travel purchases.

Premier with qualifying TRB

The 50% bonus capped at 50,000 points is attractive.

Confirm the TRB classification before spending or transferring. Do not assume that Premier status automatically means 50%.

Other Premier cardholders

A 25% bonus capped at 15,000 points is significantly less rewarding.

It can still make sense when:

  • The spending requirement will be completed naturally;
  • You already planned to transfer points to Accor;
  • You can use the Accor points soon;
  • You transfer up to 60,000 points to maximise the bonus.

It is not worth making ₹1 lakh of unnecessary purchases solely for 15,000 bonus points.

HSBC TravelOne

TravelOne cardholders receive a 25% bonus capped at 10,000 points. The cap is reached after transferring 40,000 HSBC points.

TravelOne users may also earn accelerated rewards on eligible travel transactions and access discounts of up to 15% on certain bookings.

If a business trip or family holiday is already planned, combining an eligible OTA discount with genuine travel expenditure can make the target easier to achieve.

If no major spending is planned, however, completing ₹1 lakh in eight days may not be worthwhile for a maximum 10,000-point bonus.
This totally depends on person to person.

Final assessment

HSBC has delivered a potentially valuable Accor transfer promotion, but it comes with an unusually demanding structure:

  • Separate registration is compulsory;
  • The registration window lasts only three days;
  • Cardholders must spend ₹1 lakh in eight calendar days;
  • Several important categories are restricted;
  • Travel with Points and Hopper marketplace transactions are excluded;
  • A minimum of 15,000 points must be transferred at once;
  • The transfer window lasts only two days;
  • Transfers must go to the primary cardholder’s own ALL account;
  • Premier customers are divided according to TRB;
  • Bonus rates and caps vary by segment;
  • HSBC retains extensive disqualification and clawback rights.

The promotion works best for cardholders who already have eligible purchases planned, hold a meaningful HSBC Reward Points balance and expect to redeem Accor points in the foreseeable future.

Gift vouchers for brands you regularly use, planned electronics purchases and upcoming business or family travel can all help complete the spending target. But every transaction remains subject to its MCC, the applicable exclusions and HSBC’s final assessment.

Register immediately, use genuine transactions, complete the spending early, maintain a buffer and preserve every document.

Avoid wallet-loading, refundable gold, voucher resale and MCC-masking techniques. The opportunity is valuable only when the spending is genuine and financially sensible.

Looks like this is the new normal about the TRANSFER BONUS GAME.
